Over the
last 3 years Escort to God has been donated in the
form of prayer cards, posters, prints, ornaments and more.
Some of our donations have been to families themselves,
others to Priests or organizations to hand out to those who
are grieving. One of the most gratifying parts of the
ministry is seeing that God uses the painting in ways we
hadn't expected. One of our tiles was even placed on the
grave of an infant boy in England. The ministry has taken a
strong turn towards those mothers who lost an infant, though
we do still reach out to the post abortive woman. The
painting was in the National Catholic Register last July
after Pope Benedict’s clarification of Limbo and the unborn.
One of our favorite groups to work with
is a local group call ‘Michael's feat’, Adam and Dana
Puharic do amazing work for families and hospitals in the
name of their son Michael that they lost years ago. It is
always when I feel most discouraged that I get an email from
a Mom who stumbles upon the painting. One mom sent me a note
and told me she had just lost a 10 month old baby when she
saw the painting late one night. She said that she felt
peace settle over her whole body. That small amount of hope
brought a peace to her that she hadn't had before. That is
God’s gift.
I am very excited about a song my
musician friend Laurie Collins wrote for 'Escort to God'.
She and I attend the same Bible study, and after class one
day she asked what I thought about a song. Of course I said
yes. The result is awesome!

Escort to God at the
Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington
DC. |
The original painting of Escort to
God is on National tour with
the
‘Foundation of Sacred Arts’ until December
of 2008. The show began in August 2007 at the Shrine of the
Immaculate Conception in Washington DC. It then traveled to
Saint John the evangelist Library at Christendom College in Front Royal, Virginia,
through January 23, then to the Ave Maria University
in Naples, Florida from March through May (exact dates to be
confirmed), and then at the University of Dayton from August
9-October 24, 2008.
Also keep an
eye out for the 'The
Choices we Face' EWTN TV show in the
spring. Escort to God and my other art work will be shown
with an interview done when I was 8-months pregnant with
Matthew.
Many Church’s and Parishes are having
Mass for those who have lost a child. Instead of loaning
large prints or the original which proved to be costly, we
now donate a poster which is a standard size so it can
easily be framed. We also offer the option of purchasing a
large print at ‘cost’ if the Church wishes to have one in
their church. Sometimes we donate prints privately to
families; it all depends on donations and or sales. Please
let us know if you know someone who suffers greatly.
Sometimes all we can give is a poster, or a card. If we have
done well that month or a larger organization hasn't asked
for a donation, we can provide a family with a print or at
least a discount. 10% of all sales and 100% of all donations
are put toward the production of our prints for ministry.
